If someone were to ask me why I chose medical school over veterinary school…I'm not entirely sure what my answer would be. On the one hand, I might say I did it because I was so desperate to earn my father’s approval that I decided to do the one thing he didn’t do: apply, get in, and graduate. My father was supposed to go to dental school, but for reasons I don’t know and probably never will know, he dropped out. I’ve never been good with numbers, but I feel like going to medical school might finally earn my father’s approval. As petty as it might sound, its always seemed like I was supposed to be the perfect child…the child who did what my dad couldn’t…I am so sick of always disappointing him that I almost can’t stand to look myself in the mirror.
Maybe it is a little insane, but hey. it's my plan and its my insane plan.
If someone were to ask me why I chose veterinary school…my answer would be simple: the patients don't talk back.
